Peter Siegfried Heffler, born on Jan, 31st 1960 in Reuth, learned the trade of varnishing stringed instruments from his father Konrad Heffler, born on June 4th 1933 in Bereg. In 1945 Konarad Heffler immigrated to Franconia, together with his parents and opened his own business for violin varnishing in 1960. Peter opened his own business for violin making in 1985. This first years, he specialized in the refinement of violin, viola and cello surfaces. Many companies appreciated this know-how, e.g. worldwide known companies such as Hfner and Gill.

• Responsible for caring instrument, providing advice and as a designated repairer in June 1999 at the 1st International Pablo Casals Cello Competition.

• Publicly commissiioned and sworn specialist for Violin-Making (The first person to hold such a title in Northen Bavaria).

• He has been employed as an expert of restorer and string instrument specialist by insurance company and courts.

• 1994 - Silver medal for a viola at the 7th International Violinmakers' Antonio Stradivari Competition in Cremona, Italy

• 1997 - Award for a cello at the Triennale Internazionale of string instruments in Cremona, Italy

• 1997 - 2nd prize in the category "sound" for a cello in the 3rd International Violinmakers' Competition in Mittenwald

• 2001 - International Violinmakers' Jakobus Steiner Competition: special prize for a Matteo-Goffriller cello

• 2003 - Best German violinmaker in the category violin at the Triennale Internazionale in Cremona

• 2006 - Special prize for the second-best violin (Guarneri model) at the 11th International Violinmakers Antonio Stradivari Competition in Cremona, Italy

• 2008 - Elected head of the craft guild of string instruments (Erlangen, Germany)

The aim of “Liuteria Scarli” by Emanuele Fabio Fortunato, is to revalue the historical patrimony of italian stringed instruments making especially the Neapolitan, the Cremonese and the Bolognese one, starting from ‘700 to ‘900; it makes violins, violas, cellos, bassesinspired by instrument models worked by Italian famous stringed instruments makers of the past from Gagliano, Stradivari, Guarneri up to Fiorini, Sannino, Poggi, etc.. All the instruments made in a workshop have origin after research works and recordings carried out on original instruments kept in private precious collections and Italian academies of music that let us go back to the shapes, thicknesses and varnishes used during the best period of the Italian stringed instruments makers: “the Eighteenth Century”.

Mr Russ create violin, viola, cello and double bass available directly form my workshop in three different lines: Giovane Elegante, Tiziano Trulli, Master Instruments.

His work is his passion. From the very beginning he always searched for professional musicians and he has to underline that they give him a lot of satisfaction. 30 years ago it was not that easy because these musicians, most at that time from Vienna Austria, were extremely demanding since they were playing in famous orchestras. They were looking for a sound which was able to project it's beauty and power into the very last row of the hug theaters and concert halls they were performing. 

A generally accepted definition of an antique violin would be at least 100 years. Since the age and some additional value due to other factors such as condition, rarity and quality, it makes this musical instrument desirable. Certain antique violins made by master luthiers such as Antonio Stradivari and Guarneri del Gesù, may be worth millions of dollars. The name "Stradivarius" has become a superlative often associated with excellence; to be called "the Stradivari" of any field is to be deemed the finest there is.
